Airdrieonians 2-1 Clyde
The Bully Wee suffered defeat in Airdrie this afternoon, as The Diamonds recorded a 2-1 victory and took all three cinch League 1 points.
Danny Lennon made one change to the side from last Saturday's win at East Fife, with Adam Livingstone coming in for Euan Deveney.
The hosts had an early chance to open the scoring through Adam Frizzell, but his volley from a corner was well saved by Neil Parry.
At the other end Clyde also came close from a corner, when Paul Kennedy's cross found Matthew Elsdon, but his header was narrowly off target.
Airdrie took the lead in the 10th minute when Craig Watson sent in a cross from the right flank, and Callum Smith caught it on the volley and hooked the ball beyond Parry into the corner of the net.
Clyde drew level from the penalty spot in the 34th minute after Kennedy turned his marker on the edge of the box and drove towards goal. He got a chipped shot away that was off target but Josh Kerr lunged in and caught the midfielder late, with Chris Graham pointing to the spot. David Goodwillie sent Max Currie the wrong way to net the equaliser.
The Bully Wee almost went into the interval a goal up. Ross Cunningham saw his shot saved and from the follow up a header from Kennedy was cleared off the line by Rhys McCabe.
Airdrie started the second half strongly and Parry was called into action to turn a low shot from Dylan Easton behind for a corner.
Frizzell then tried his luck with another volley from the edge of the box but Parry again was equal to it.
The Diamonds scored the winner just before the hour mark after Aaron Splaine was caught in possession just outside the box. Easton jinked his way past a couple of defenders, and squared for Callum Gallagher to tap into the empty net.
Elsdon came close again when heading wide in the closing stages from a Barry Cuddihy free-kick but it was Airdrie who finished in the ascendancy, with Parry keeping the score down.
