The Bully Wee compounded a miserable week with a heavy defeat in Airdrie this afternoon.
Danny Lennon made four changes to the team from Tuesday's loss in Dumbarton, with Scott Rumsby, Lloyd Robertson, Kris Syvertsen and Chris Johnston all returning.
The Diamonds opened the lead in the 24th minute when Leon McCann broke down the left and hit a cross into the box, where the unmarked Calum Gallagher was on hand to head past David Mitchell and into the net.
Clyde tried to hit back and Kris Syvertsen forced David Hutton into a save after good build-up work by David Goodwillie, and moments later the captain sent a header just over the bar from a Jamie Bain cross.
The missed chances proved costly as Airdrie doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark. Thomas Robert played a ball through the Clyde defence and Dale Carrick latched on to it, firing past Mitchell with his first touch.
Things got even worse for Clyde a minute before the interval when Gallagher was lurking at the back post and tapped in a third Airdrie goal from a cross.
Gallagher saw his header hit the crossbar five minutes after the restart and moments later Airdrie were awarded a penalty after referee Chris Graham deemed Lloyd Robertson tugged a forward in the box. Mitchell guessed the right way, but Carrick's spot kick was out of his reach.
Mitchell made a great save to deny Carrick from completing a hat-trick, but the hosts did add a fifth in the 81st minute when Kyle Connell diverted a cross into the net.
The Bully Wee had a chance to net a consolation when Rumsby and Goodwillie both challenged Hutton to high balls and the ball broke to Jay Henderson, but his effort was blocked and sent behind for a corner.
