Board's New Season Message
The Board hopes that all of the club's supporters enjoyed a well-earned rest over the summer and revelled in the success of last season's play-off promotion. There are a lot of people to thank, both on and off the pitch, for last season's success and the club would like to thank each and every one of our players, management, staff, volunteers and supporters for this.
This season brings the exciting challenge of competing in SPFL League 1 and the bar has been raised in all areas. Danny has brought in some exciting new talent to our squad and pre-season has been competitive and challenging, but has provided excellent preparation for the league kick-off on Saturday against East Fife.
The support was exceptional in the play-offs, with 1,204 and 2,735 attending our two home ties. We need this support again this year if we are to continue to succeed. Please encourage your friends and supporters old and new to attend with you.
Behind the scenes, it has been a busy summer with a new playing surface and a very significant investment made by our landlords, North Lanarkshire Leisure, in a stadium upgrade. The appointment of a new finance director and the recruitment of a sales executive to help sell the various sponsorship and commercial opportunities on matchdays, has also been our focus in recent months.
Please contact the club if you would like further details of match sponsorship, match ball sponsorship or hospitality.
The Bully Wee Fund has restarted with tremendous support in its first month and there are various fundraising events scheduled throughout the year, including a new ladies event.
This season brings with it new ambition and it will require increased efforts to meet those demands. We have a wonderful facility in the Arria Lounge and this must be the season to increase its profitability, so please look out for booking details for both hospitality and bar access. We need this facility to be a sell-out at each home match and we need your support in making this happen.
The Community Foundation goes from strength to strength and it is wonderful, in our 25th year at Broadwood, to see such positive impact on the local communities.
The Board too has set aside its six strategic priorities and these are as follows:-
- Strive for success on the pitch
- Increase sources of income
- Increase attendances
- Develop profile and engagement in community with equality of access for all
- Improve accessibility of the club
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of the club
This Saturday marks the start of the 2019-20 league campaign, in our 25th season at Broadwood. Let's all work together to making it another great season for all aspects of Clyde Football Club.
