Successful Summer Camps

Wed, 9th Aug 2017 6:47pm

Stepps Primary School was the venue for the first Clyde FC Summer Holiday Camps - giving kids the ideal opportunity to spend their school break having fun and playing football. The camps, run by the Clyde Community Foundation, offered boys and girls the chance to be active and have lots of great fun and enjoyment.

Tom Elliott, who heads up the Community Foundation, was enthusiastic about the programme. He said: "It's brilliant for the connection between the club and the community – and really good for the kids. Exercise is a great thing for young people. They get a lot from it and it helps develop them steadily.

"We are thrilled with the feedback we have received about our camps. I have to mention our head coaches Stuart McIntosh, Robert McCaw and Barry Calder who worked extremely hard to make sure the kids had a great time."

During the camps, children benefited from structured coaching sessions directed by SFA qualified coaching staff, undertook fun challenges, collected a completion certificate and received a gift from the club.

Former Clyde player Simon Mensing also attended one of the sessions along with his son, as pictured here.

The club and Foundation is looking forward to welcoming all of the kids and their parents to the Ladbrokes League 2 match against Annan Athletic on Saturday and they will also entertain supporters at half-time.
